I have been a fan of Tony Robbins for many years and have purchased most of his products. He inspires me to be better and helps provide the tools and the insight to get to the next level. I ran across this video of his and I gotta say that it’s one of the best I’ve seen lately. Tony Robbins is one of the greatest motivators and inspirational speakers of our generation. However, the greatest inspirational stories and information do no good whatsoever without taking action. Whatever goals and dreams you are contemplating right now…STOP Thinking and TAKE ACTION! I Love Colorado! After living there for almost 13 years I take every chance I can to get back out there and enjoy the incredible beauty and the wonderful people. So when I learned that ViSalus Sciences was having their latest “Academy” Success Training event in Denver, Colorado on March 12th through the 14th I jumped at the opportunity to go.

When you decide to start a Network Marketing/ MLM Business, typically there will be an initial start-up cost to join and then an ongoing monthly AutoShip cost for your personal product order. My experience has been when people ask me about ViSalus is “How much does it cost to get started?” and then secondly, “What is the ongoing monthly auto-ship requirement and cost?”
These questions are fairly typical in any home based business because people are concerned about any additional funds they have going out of their household every month. After all, the reason they are looking at starting a business in the first place is because they need to start earning some additional money.

What criteria do you use for selecting the “Perfect” Network Marketing/MLM Business for YOU?
After 5+ years in the Network Marketing/MLM industry, I recently found myself disillusioned with the company I had been promoting full time for the last year. I was one of the top leaders and earners in that company and by all intents and purposes, I should have been happy….but I wasn’t. Now I won’t go into the gory details but suffice it to say that it was time for me to move on.
I was ready to find the perfect company and income opportunity for me to build my future with for the long haul. No more starts and stops watching all of my hard work disappear as the new idea just didn’t work or questionable decisions were made by management. I’ve always been one to be attracted to innovative ideas with start-ups that promised to build a better mousetrap and it has made me lots of money in the past. However, since joining the network marketing industry, I’ve not been so lucky at hooking up with a start-up that actually has the mojo to build a lasting company.
As this new year 2010 started, I did some soul searching and promised myself that I would not gamble on start-ups any more and that this year would be the year I chose the right company that has everything I need to achieve my life’s goals.
I needed an income opportunity with products that I have a passion for…something that I could get truly excited about and more than anything else, something that I could truly believe in for the long term and not just some passing fad .
If I’ve learned one thing over the years, it’s this….If you are promoting a company and products that you aren’t passionate about…If you don’t truly believe in the products or the people running the company, you will not have success and you’ll just be wasting your time.
There are 1,000’s of viable home business opportunities to choose from and new one’s are hyping their prelaunch every week. It can be very confusing trying to figure out what product or company to build your future with.
Because of this huge confusing collage of opportunity choices, I submit that people should have a preset list of criteria for an income opportunity and a company in place prior to even looking at a company. People should not make decisions based on hype, the pre-launch flavor of the week or even the introduction from a friend if it does not meet the criteria. The sad fact is that most people don’t take the time to create such a list based on their own personal preferences and instead, they select opportunities based on hype and fancy websites or for other frivilous reasons . Believe me, I’ve been there and done that but never again.
So on January 2nd this year, immediately following the holidays with a brand new year in front of me, I sat down and developed a list of MY business criteria for MY future. The criteria on this list would once and for all help me and my team members achieve our dreams in 2010 and for the long haul.
Drawing from my years of experience in the industry, I developed a solid list of criteria or “must haves” before I went looking for the perfect business for ME. Now I’d like to share that list with you and then cover each point separately in separate posts over the next 6 days. There’s a lot of valuable information to cover.
Based on my website here, you can clearly see that I chose ViSalus Sciences as the company to build my future with and I’ll share the reasons why I believe ViSalus Sciences truly has it all together for helping average people finally achieve success. These reasons may resonate with you or they may not, but in either case, I am confident that the information I share about criteria for choosing the right business can help you in some way, now or in the future. You may have some of your own criteria and I invite you to share your ideas in the comments section below.
Here’s the list of my top 6 criteria that I created:
1. I must be passionate about the products and the business category I choose. Aside from the income opportunity, the company’s products must be something that can truly help people in some way to make their life better. There must be a proven track record of the company’s products doing exactly what they are advertised to do. The products must not be a passing fad but rather something that I can see myself promoting for years to come.
2. The market potential for the products must be huge and growing significantly each year. It must be part of a global trend and not some passing fad.
3. The company must be stable with at least a 5 year track record of success in business. The company must have the kind of financial backing that makes anything possible and no worries of wether they will make it from month to month and be able to pay their distributors. I am so tired of seeing people invest their money and their time in start-up ventures that are mis-managed and then everyone must start
over. Time is money and when time is wasted, it’s like burning your money.
4. The company must have a comprehensive marketing and training system in place utilizing all of the latest technology including social networking integration. The system must make it possible for every person who joins, no matter what their level of experience to be able to achieve success. I’ve come to realize that if a company had such a marketing system in place built from the top down, then there would be no reason for distributors to go to 3rd party marketing systems. 3rd party systems work well for some people but they can also dilute the focus and make for a “not everyone’s on the same page” dynamic when trying to build a team and more importantly a company culture.
5. The company must have a strong incentive program that appeals to the masses making it easier to attract people to take a look at the products and the business. The stronger the incentive, or hook on the front end, the more people who will look at the products and opportunity. There’s a lot of competition out there and people’s attention spans are short because they are inundated with so much information every day.
6. The compensation plan must be fair and structured in such a way that it pays out right away (weekly) with fast start bonuses and commissions and also very lucurative long term resdual income with out a bunch of hoops to jump through creating breakage.
So there you have it…After careful consideration, that is the list of the main criteria I developed for my next and hopefully last Network Marketing/MLM business venture.
After creating my list, I went looking for the right business and did a lot of praying also. It’s not so easy finding the right company, especially with my list of “MUST HAVE” criteria. Many companies had a number of the critical criteria but most fell short in one or more areas and I was not about to compromise in any area.
Well after a few weeks of searching, my prayers were answered when I found ViSalus Sciences. As I mentioned, I will cover each of my criteria separately in the next 6 days and explain why I feel it is so important and how ViSalus Sciences meets the requirement.
